Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Midtown Public Charter School schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 95.8% of the 239 students enrolled in Midtown Public Charter School schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

Midtown Public Charter School had the highest enrollment in the district with 239 students.

A snapshot of Midtown Public Charter School schools showed 95.8% of students were Black and 4.2% were multiracial.

Midtown Public Charter School roughly covers one school and has a main office in Jackson.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
