U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith from Mississippi has criticized President Biden's recent State of the Union address, stating that the American people are not deceived by the President's attempts to paint a positive picture of the country. Hyde-Smith expressed her disappointment in Biden's leadership and policies, attributing high prices, crime, and border security issues to them.

In her statement, Hyde-Smith remarked, "President Biden’s attempt to sell us a rosy picture of the state of our union will not work because the American people are not fooled by the President’s blame shifting on high prices, crime, or border security." She further added, "I’m disappointed that President Biden has no intention of abandoning his failed policies, but will instead carry on with his agenda of more taxes, more radical regulations, and even more federal government intrusion into the lives of every American."

The Senator also raised concerns about the impact of Biden's policies on national security, stating, "The state of our union under this President is at risk and no amount of defection and campaign rhetoric will change that fact. The American people deserve better."

Hyde-Smith had previously addressed the issue of border security in a pre-State of the Union floor speech, highlighting the dangers posed by Biden's policies to Americans nationwide.

The Senator's critique comes amidst a politically charged atmosphere in Washington, with debates over government policies and their effects on the country's well-being taking center stage.
